Home Transition Options

Aging in Place
Most Seniors prefer to stay in their current home. Hopefully, relocation is not required and only modifications to the home are necessary for better safety, accessibility, energy conservation and security. If so, assistance is available from our network of trusted and qualified designers and contractors experienced in aging in place modifications.
Sale of Home
If relocation is necessary, we work with Seniors for a smooth process that is fully transparent. Ongoing communication is provided so that the Senior knows exactly what is happening and what to expect. This process includes the initial meeting, home valuation, pricing, staging, showings, review of offers, contract negotiation, inspections and closing. Assistance with disposition of what is not needed after the move, including estate sale if necessary, and moving is available.
Replacement Home
We work with the Senior to find a new home locally or elsewhere. What type and size of the new housing all depends on the needs and lifestyle of the Senior with a consideration of possible future long term care planning needs. The new home could be anything from a detached home to an assisted living community. If financing is necessary, assistance can be provided for special loan programs such as reverse mortgages with our network of qualified and trusted mortgage lenders.

Team Working Together
Any work performed by a real estate agent should be performed in coordination with the Senior's trusted advisors. These include the attorney, CPA, financial planner and long term care planner. For most Seniors, their real estate transactions will involve estate planning, financial planning, taxation, Medicare and Medicaid, long term care planning and other issues. As an attorney with past education, training and experience in these areas, I am better able to work with the Senior and trusted advisors to ensure that the real estate transaction is performed correctly in accordance with the current overall planning.
